Annie Green-Armytage Photography and Feature Writing

I am a freelance garden photographer and feature writer with work published regularly in books and magazines.

For more than twenty years I have specialised in supplying flower and garden images around the world, for advertising, publishing and multimedia design. More recently I have started to diversify into travel photography and this is a growing sector of my portfolio.

I started taking photographs at the age of seven with a box Brownie of my Dad’s. Many thumbs in front of the lens later I turned professional, before changing direction completely to take a computer science degree, subsequently becoming a software consultant in the City of London. After the birth of my first daughter, I rediscovered photography and began freelancing as a way of regaining control over my working life. Control over family life, no chance.

Now I work for books and magazines, including a monthly feature for the EDP Norfolk magazine, and also for private clients, specialising in plants and gardens. In addition, I am currently developing my travel photography and travel writing, and welcome any enquiries around these.

Commissions accepted for complete packages (words and images) or for pictures only. Private commissions for garden and travel photography also welcomed.

I contribute to online libraries Getty Images, GAP Photos, Alamy and Garden World Images.

International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) 2018 – Category Winner, Runner-Up and Finalist (six awards in total). See the placed images here.
